Joy Hurley, LCSW-C

Joy practices through a trauma-informed lens, taking a gentle and person-centered approach. She enjoys working with teens ages 16+ and adults 

experiencing anxiety and panic disorders, grief, depression, and phase of life and relationship issues. She is passionate about women's issues including perinatal/maternal mental health as well as working with the LGBTQ population. As an eclectic therapist, Joy primarily borrows techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and motivational interviewing. Joy is warm and non-threatening, and she comes alongside individuals to empower them, believing that clients are the experts in their own lives.

Joy received her Bachelor's in Social Work from McDaniel College and received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland.
